All children deserve to say
"It’s fun 2 be me!"

Achieving this level of self confidence may come easier or more difficult for a child with special needs.
At Fun 2 be me developmental therapy, since 2007, we’ve been supporting kids to strengthen sensory/motor foundations and develop deeper social-emotional relationships—so they can have more fun 2 be me moments in their lives.
We also support Families in Understanding their child’s Needs (the key to FUN) and it is our goal to see the child’s "Fun 2 be me!" become the family’s "Fun 2 be WE!"

Understanding The Challenges

Does it take your child more effort or support to engage in daily life? Is there something about their behavior, sensory and/or motor skills, or their academic performance that seems ‘off’ or more challenging than what you would expect from a child of their age?

Many families come to us when they notice their child facing various difficulties that affect the child’s ability to thrive. Recognizing these signs is the first step toward helping your child lead a happier, more successful life.

easily frustrated or overwhelmed

Does your child shut down or act out if things don’t go their way or according to routine?

Do seemingly little things upset your child?

over/under reactive to sensation

Is your child a picky eater?

Do they complain about clothing or fabrics?

Do they resist brushing their teeth or hair?

Do loud sounds upset or delight them?

Incoordination

Is your child clumsy or do they fall frequently?

Do they go about tasks in an awkward or inefficient way?

Do they avoid active play and movement?

Social Difficulties

Does your child prefer to be left alone?

Do their attempts at being social fall flat or fail?

Do they struggle to read the room?

Play

Does your child avoid or play too rough with other kids?

Is your child bossy when playing with others?

Are they limited to very few play ideas?

Difficulty with school

Does your child have difficulty staying seated?

Do they struggle with aspects of writing such as neatness or hand fatigue?

Do they forget about or misplace homework?

Is completing homework a struggle?

Overcoming The Challenges

At Fun2BeMe, we don’t just recognize the challenges—we know how to overcome them. Our therapeutic approach is designed to transform difficulties into successes, ensuring that each child can thrive.

By addressing these areas, we not only resolve immediate problems but also pave the way for long-term success and happiness.

Staying calm when it’s tough

We help children to build brain and body connections through their engagement in playful therapy activities designed as a just-`right challenge, building their tolerance for change and persistence through difficulties, all within a supportive relationship.

Making sense of sensations

Through the use of our sensory-rich clinic, a therapist certified in sensory integration, and a careful selection and arrangement of equipment, we help children to lessen their hypersensitivity to certain sensory experiences and raise their awareness of others. This helps children can better perceive and organize their sensations and enhance their participation in daily activities.

Improving coordination

Our specialized therapy clinic boasts an abundance of movement opportunities, from simple to complex, to challenge your child ‘s skills in areas of both fine motor (i.e. hands) and gross motor (i.e. whole body) coordination. Children are active participants in the selection and set-up of equipment options which help them to develop their movement planning capabilities for better success and less frustration in activities ranging from playing with toys to participation in sports/recreational activities.

Building social skills

A goal of our therapy approach is that children (and parents) learn strategies for co-regulation. This is a crucial underpinning for all aspects of life, and especially important for children with challenges in this area. Improvements may occur in contexts both in/out of the home such as playing or getting along better with siblings or peers, being a group member and following a group plan, as well as improved thinking about others.

Developing play skills

We utilize a developmental relationship-based model (DIR Floortime) and other modalities as indicated in a caring and playful manner focusing on function and promoting success to expand a child’s repertoire of play activities/themes and their inclusion of others and others’ ideas, across various contexts and play partners.

Helping school go smoother

Improvements in academic performance often begin with work on the sensory-motor foundations for learning. Children need to be calm and regulated, have sufficient upright postural control and balance, adequate visual spatial skills and attention, along with sufficient hand strength and coordination to meet the many environmental and activity demands that a child faces throughout their school day and overall school career. We address all these skills and more in our sessions in fun and engaging ways.

Therapy Where Your Child Needs It

We understand that effective therapy must be flexible and accessible. Whether at our fully equipped clinic in Medina, in your home, or out in the community, we ensure every setting fosters learning and growth.

Engaging and Equipped Clinic

We primarily provide our direct treatment services in the clinic, which boasts a wide array of sensory-motor equipment, from therapeutic swings to climbing apparatuses, where the child can engage in a space specifically designed to meet their individual needs.

Family Friendly

Parents may be invited to observe or actively participate in therapy sessions with their child so they may better understand and utilize the therapy strategies at home or otherwise in their day-to-day activities.Siblings or close peers may also be invited to join a portion of the child’s therapy session. This helps parents learn strategies to more effectively juggle the needs and interests of more than one child at a time, and fosters a stronger relationship among the siblings (peers)

Off-site Consultations

Occasionally we may see a child in other locations that are a part their natural environments such as home, private schools, homeschool co-ops, church, etc.   This helps us to see where a child is still struggling, and allows us to work through “real life” with the child, and sometimes with the adults around them as well.

Community-Based

Older children with community projects or who are working on transitional skills for adulthood may benefit from a therapy session out in the community. We may work on things like managing money, going to a restaurant, or even completing Eagle Scout projects.

Convenient Virtual Option

If you drive a long distance to get to us and the weather is awful one day, or you/your child/a sibling are a little under the weather, we’ve got you covered without having to miss out on therapy. When unexpected situations arise, we may be able to offer a therapy session online.

Begin Your Child’s Journey to Success

Every moment is an opportunity for growth, don't wait for the school or doctor to raise concern. As your partner in your child's journey, we encourage you to take the first step. Together, we can transform challenges into milestones and fears into achievements. Reach out today and empower your child to thrive in their own unique way.

Hear from Our Families

“Miss Pam” has been such a JOY to work with through these many years concerning my son Michael from age 3-18. One of the first things that struck me was her ability to incorporate fun in her therapy time with him. HE LOVED going to see her. He never wanted to leave. I think we both could agree that Michael was not just another number. Pam truly cared about his progress and contended with passion to help him have continuous break-through from session to session.

I felt like Pam truly cared and took the time to understand us. We’ve had so many constructive brainstorming sessions and heartfelt conversations on how to best help Michael succeed. She has helped Michael mature into the thoughtful, caring, hard-working, healthy and productive young man he is now today.

We’re happy to report, Michael is now 20yrs old and has accomplished much in line with his neurological peers. He is currently holding a job as a lifeguard at the YMCA, driving and going to college to pursue his dream to work with animals and marine life. Pam has helped advocate for Michael in the schools and really helped connect the dots for us on so many levels. “Miss Pam” helped him prepare Michael for real life. We are beyond grateful.

My son started therapy with Pam when he was 3 and a half years old. We sought her out because she was 1 of only 3 occupational therapists certified in sensory integration therapy in Ohio. My son is now 17; there is a reason we have stayed with Pam over a decade for his occupational therapy. She has been fully committed to my son since day one.

Through the years, Pam has faithfully pursued continuing education and training in numerous programs such as DIR floor-time, Linda Mood Bell, Michelle Garcia Winner, Sarah Ward, and Sensory Integration Therapy. As my son has grown from a toddler to a young man, she has continued to adapt and customize all these impressive therapy approaches to his evolving needs. This makes Pam the exception to the rule in the world of therapists- you will not find this level of dedication to your child anywhere else.

As a homeschooling family, we have been able to utilize so many opportunities with Pam for my son to work on not only educational skills, but also the more important social emotional and extra curricular skills that are critical to function successfully in life. From studying skills to scouting and Eagle Scout project work to swim team goals and his faith, family, and friendships, Pam has helped him work relentlessly in occupational therapy to be his best self.

We are so lucky that we found Pam and Fun 2 Be Me Therapy.

When we were very early on in our journey to help find the support and resources for our Autistic Child, she was a Godsend! Not only is she a wonderful therapist that has helped our son learn, develop and progress, but she helped us understand and navigate an unfamiliar world.

Pam and her support staff are:

Experienced: Pam has a wealth and depth of experiences that she uses to design individualized therapeutic styles and exercises to set and make progress against our son’s goals / needs.

Informative: Always helping us understand how things work and how to continue to support our son.

Supportive: Willing to work with us and our insurance company on how to get the most out of our coverage.

Flexible: Very easy to fit therapy times/sessions into our ever-changing schedule.

Trustworthy: We trust Pam. After a few sessions we felt very comfortable leaving our son in her care without needing to be there. But she is always open to having us be present.

Compassionate: When our son is temperamental, Pam is always accommodating and understanding and has a lot of tips/tricks/tools to help him regulate / re-direct so he can get the most out of his time with her.

In short, Pam cares…A LOT. . .she wants the best for our son and cares as much about his developmental progress as we do, as his parents.
